Do You See Double From Too Many Single Malts?
Next Tuesday, January 26, at 6 p.m., Chop House Miami will hold a Glenlivet Scotch Dinner. Outstanding single-malt Scotch whiskies will be paired with appropriately exquisite cuisine and fine Mederos cigars. Bobby Figgs of Chop House will host the festivities with the help of Glenlivet brand ambassador Randy Adams and Alfredo Cruz of Mederos Cigars. Cost is $100 per guest, space is limited, RSVP necessary.
Chop House Miami, 300 S. Biscayne Blvd., Miami; 305-938-9000.

Cheesy Chocolates
The crass American food conglomerate Kraft is set to acquire Cadbury, which has been making chocolates for 186 years. Good news for Kraft, because the move gains the food giant a foothold in the lucrative Indian market. Bad news for all else concerned. It is estimated the Brits could lose 6,000 jobs, not to mention a cherished company the country has always prided. Worse still: The precious Dairy Milk bar is now in the slimy hands of Kraft.

Cape Cod Gets Happy
The Cape Cod Room at the Bath Club is now serving dinner Sundays from 6 to 10 p.m. Beginning February 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the restaurant will begin its monthly Jazz Brunch, replete with local musicians horning it up. Beginning February 10 and taking place every Wednesday through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.: happy hour with $6 cocktails and two-for-one oysters (Wellfleet and Island Creek) and/or fried Ipswich clams with homemade potato chips.
The Cape Cod Room, 5937 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 305-864-1262.
