Duvel Single is the lighter golden ale from the Duvel Moortgat Brewery in the Belgium's Flanders region, where they speak Dutch.
The brewery became a major investor in Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, New York, buying it completely in 2003. The Belgian-style brewery is known for its fine line of craft beers such as Hennepin, Rare Vos, Three Philosophers and even limited-edition beers made for TV shows like Game of Thrones.
Duvel's taste comes from the complicated and specific brewing and re-fermentation process that takes more than three months to complete. Once brewed, the brew master and his staff taste each batch after approximately 30 days. At this stage the beer is called "single-fermented."
So once you're done with Art Walk and got a just a bit more than a bucks in your pocket, start your night at Gramps and have no shame as you start double-fisting beers.
