Valentine's Day Shopping Happy Hour at the Village Stand

Tick tock, buddy. Valentine's Day is next week and if you haven't found the perfect gift, you'd best get cracking. Luckily, the Village Stand in Miami Shores makes shopping less painful by turning it into a happy hour. Enjoy a glass of wine while you peruse hand-made jewelry, hand beaded tunics, dresses, candles, chocolates, and books. Happy hour is Friday, February 6, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

While you're there, don't forget to pre-order your authentic New Orleans king cake from Sucre ($42). Order by Sunday, February 7, to receive yours by February 17.

Bunnnie Cakes Turns Two

Two years ago, Mariana Cortez opened her vegan and gluten-free bakery in Wynwood. Some balked at the idea of vegan cupcakes (each bearing a signature heart), until they tried the treats and discovered they tasted as good, if not better, than the butter-and-egg-laden kind.

Now, Bunnie Cakes is officially a toddler, and to celebrate the occasion, anyone who makes a purchase this Saturday, February 7, will get a free cupcake. Plus, the first 50 people to walk into the shop on Saturday will receive a fun gift bag. Bunnie Cakes is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Celebrate World Pisco Sour Day

Another made-up holiday, sure, but we'll drink to that. Three Miami-area restaurants are celebrating with special pisco cocktails.

SushiSamba is celebrating with two days of pisco-madness. On Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8, enjoy the matcha pisco made with matcha-infused pisco, orange liqueur, and pineapple syrup ($9) and a pisco pinch made with Pisco Poton, Barcardi Mango, coconut rum, fresh lime juice, yuzu juice, muddled shiso leaf, and orange bitters, topped with ginger ale effervescence ($9).

The Coral Gables SushiSamba is offering a hokkaido scallop seviche with Siberian osetra caviar, micro coriander, crisped shallots, and pisco infused leche de tigre ($18); while the Miami Beach location is serving a pisco picanha saltado with sesame oil, pisco seared picanha, red onion, heirloom cherry tomato, crispy mocha, poached quail egg, and pisco sour foam ($16).

At La Mar by Gaston Acurio, enjoy the Pisco de Cacao ($15), made with pisco, creme de cacao, and topped with cacao powder; or the lemongrass pisco ($15) with lemongrass-infused pisco and lemongrass bitters.

Downton Abbey-Inspired Tea

Fans of Downton Abbey can get their high tea on, without the annoying flight across the pond. This Sunday, February 8, Madi's Tea Garden will host a tea at precisely 2 p.m. where you will enjoy soups, savories, sweets, roast game, and lots of tea. There's also a prize for the best period costume from the 1900s - '20s and a Downton Abbey trivia contest with prizes. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at madisteagarden.com.

Grammys Watch Party at Oak Tavern

The 57th Grammys are this Sunday and we all love to watch for the elegant (and outrageous) outfits on the red carpet, the musical performances by Usher, Common, Madonna, and Pharrell Williams and his hat, and more. Oak Tavern is hosting a Grammy watch party complete with specialty cocktails like the Every Rose Has Its Thorn, and a ballot card guessing game where the winner takes home a $100 bar tab. The fun starts at 5 p.m.
