What's good, Miami? It's safe to say we had a successful benefit last night for our late intern David. We raised almost $8,000 thanks to all of you who came.

In other news, we have a kick-ass weekend ahead of us. Not only is the weather finally cooling down (low 80s, anyone???), but 'tis the season for spectacular events to start coming under way. Check out this weekend's sips and nibbles after the jump.

The Drawing Room at Broken Shaker - Friday

Have you been to one of the Drawing Room events at the Broken Shaker yet? It's pretty awesome. This Friday at 7 p.m. Miami-based artist Evoca1 will be showcasing a selection of work from collection. The Dominican-born artist is a self-taught and skilled figurative painter, street artist, and designer. You'll be able to check out his art, and sip on the cocktail that's based on his collection. The Broken Shaker's Randy Perez, who curated the drink, was inspired by Evoca1's bold color pallete.

Duvel Beat the Clock @ Gramps - Saturday

By now you should know the drill. Because it really doesn't get much better. Free barbecue from Sparky's; $1 Duvel Singles from 6-7 p.m.; $2 from 7-8 p.m.; $3 from 8-9 p.m.; $5 for the rest of the night. The first 50 people to show up get a glass of their own to keep. Go be a good champ and get your free barbecue and cheap beer on. No greater joy than that.

Perufest USA - Saturday and Sunday

You know what's great? Lomo saltado. Smokey meat in all kinds of juicy goodness with french fries and rice? It makes regular stir-fry cower. Perufest USA is one big Peru party at the Miami-Dade Fair & Expo Center on Coral Way. In addition to the heaping bowls of fresh ceviche, you'll be able to enjoy all the pleasures of pisco sours, lomo saltado, cooking demos, seminars, artisan craftworks including jewelry, clothes, music, and artwork. And bring the kids so they can learn how to cook in the kids' cooking classes! Make me some ceviche, Timmy! And a pisco sour -- extra dry!

Dinner and a Show: Dinner @ Fontainebleau and The Band Perry - Sunday

Somehow, this amazing deal popped up. Get this: for just a hundred bucks, you can get a prix-fixe dinner at one of the great restaurants at the Fontainebleau (Scarpetta, Hakkasan or Gotham Steak), an all-access pass to The Band Perry's live concert, and a two hour open bar. Dinner reservations must be made by 6 p.m. because the show starts at 8p.m. in the Sparkle Room. The next Dinner & a Show package will be held on December 14 featuring Gloria Gaynor and The Spinners. You can purchase your (incredibly-priced) tickets at bleaulive.com or by calling 1-800-584-8886.
