Dolce recently opened at The Gale and we got a first bite. Now the hotel has expanded past its food offerings into an underground disco lounge.

A walk through the hotel's lobby and down a flight of stairs will lead you to an outside ramp and back to the street. Take that and you're led to another flight of stairs on the side of the hotel. Here a big bouncer looks at you like you're lost. Just where exactly are you going?

You are headed for Rec Room, a subterranean lounge with an exclusive underground vibe and a longing for a distant past of nothing but peace, love, and groovy tunes.

Rec Room is LDV Hospitality's latest addition to their emerging nightlife division, which also includes the Regent Cocktail Club, set to have their grand opening in February.

With a substantial hip hop meets disco vinyl-disc library collection, Rec Room pays tribute to some of the greatest artists of not only our time, but of all time.

Rec Room is similar to your grandmother's '70s basement... f your grandmother were a beach hippie. Wood paneled walls with palm tree wallpaper and funky vintage lights help create the vibe along with faux palm trees that are placed strategically throughout the lounge. You might be below ground level, but you're still in SoBe. Rec Room never lets you forget this. There are cozy tables with mod leather banquettes and funky printed stools for bottle service where you don't have to drop 10K to have a good time.

This is what makes this high-energy bar appealing to the locals and young professionals. You can sit and have a drink while you converse about the memorabilia of old clocks, pilot caps, ships, and old school records that line the wall. Or you can kick your stool to the side as your favorite track comes on and unleash your inner disco queen or king.

With drinks and cocktails at just $14, this new underground beach lounge is less bitchy and more old-school funk.
