Normally, the food trucks would be gathering this evening at the American Legion Post #29, a spot just off Biscayne and 64th Street, complete with plenty of parking, lots of grass, bay breezes, and most important, a beer and wine tent. City code compliance officers pulled the plug on the trucks when they were setting up last week, and issues are still not resolved.
Not to be deterred, Roundup organizer and owner of Jefe's Original Taco, Jack Garabedian, has found a temporary space for tonight's TTT (Totally Truckin' Thursdays). From 5 to 10 p.m., TTT will take place behind the Publix on Biscayne Boulevard at 48th Street. Trucks scheduled to serve chow are Dolci Peccati Gelato, Jefe's Original Tacos, Caza Crepes, Miso Hungry, the Rolling Stove, MonTaco, and Ms. Cheezious.
Following these trucks is turning out to be like following a telenovela. Will they get stopped by code enforcement? What new trucks will roll out this week? Will there be a long line at MonTaco again? Will it rain? Stay tuned for future episodes of As the Truck Rolls.
