Craft beer fans in Miami are becoming spoiled with all of the amazing home-brewers and craft breweries in the city, but they can still impress their Valentines with a tasting of Goose Island's Bourbon County line of beers at Lokal in Coconut Grove.
The craft connoisseurs at Lokal understand that some people don't really give a flip about flowers and chocolates, they just want good beer. The place recently received the shipments of Bourbon County, which will be available tomorrow only, February 13, on draft or bottle.

On draft they will have:
- Bourbon County Stout, 14.2 percent alcohol-by-volume (abv)
- Bourbon County Barleywine, 12.1 percent abv
- Lolita, 9 percent abv
And for bottles:
- Bourbon County Coffee Stout, 13.4 percent abv
- Bourbon County Backyard Rye, 12.7 percent abv
As you can see, none of the beers fall below 9 percent abv, which makes them deliciously-strong. It's worth mentioning that Goose Island's Bourbon County beers are highly sought after and highly rated. Every single one listed here has an impressive RateBeer or BeerAdvocate rating of 100. The Lolita has a RateBeer rating of 99 and BeerAdvocate rating of 92. It's also worth mentioning that Lokal won't waste your time with cheap beer, either.
The beer is brewed in small batches and the cask conditioning in Bourbon whiskey barrels imparts a highly-desireable oak and whiskey taste. The stuff is not that common and more alcoholic than a typical beer that it is usually served in small glasses.
Quantities are extremely limited, of course. But if you haven't gotten enough of Bourbon County, Lokal will also be raffling off bottles of Backyard Rye and a Goose Island gift basket.
Lokal may not be the most romantic spot to take your Valentine, but Bourbon County beer is worth its weight in diamonds and that's kind of a big deal.
