Frankly, any day that celebrates a spirit should be a federal holiday. And though we (sadly) haven't reached that point in our evolution, there's a consolation prize: Yes, next Wednesday's National Tequila Day is midweek, but you can still spend your after-work hours celebrating.

In honor of the fruits of the agave plant, Herradura Tequila is hosting a Traveling Tequila Happy Hour. As you trek across South Beach with fellow revelers, you'll get more than your fill of celebratory booze. We promise.

Boozers will get to cruise the streets of SoBe from 7 to 11 p.m., sipping free and deeply discounted cocktails.

"National Tequila Day is one of the few days when we get to endlessly indulge and enjoy one of the best libations ever created. The fact that it will be with a premium 100 percent blue agave tequila like Herradura Tequila will just make this day even tastier," says Herradura rep Thomas Barker.

The fun will kick off at TeQuiztlan at 7 p.m. with a margarita made with Herradura Tequila Silver, guava, and jalapeño. At 8 o'clock, head to Rosa Mexicano for its La Tradicional margarita, a mix of Herradura Tequila, fresh lime, and organic agave.

At 9 p.m., it's off to Balans for a host of $5 Herradura Tequila libations. And finally, at 10 p.m., hit the Delano's Rose Bar, where the hotel bar's weekly Whiskey Wednesdays party will present the official National Tequila Day With Herradura Tequila shindig.

"It will be a blast trying all of the different cocktails and checking out each restaurant's fantastic menus," Barker says. "Who says Christmas comes only once a year?"

Christmas in July. We can think of no better way to celebrate than with lots and lots of boozing.
