Back in 1969, The Doors came to the Dinner Key theater in Miami and gave one of the more infamous concerts in Rock'n'Roll history. Lead singer Jim Morrison ended up getting arrested for allegedly whipping out his peen, shouting obscenities, performing a simulated beej on a bandmate, and being drunk as fuck. Doors fans have maintained Morrison's innocence ever since, and have lobbied Governor after Governor to pardon the rock icon. Charlie Crist is on his way out of office and may just do that.

"Candidly, it's something that I haven't given a lot of thought to, but it's something I'm willing to look into in the time I have left," Crist tells The Hill. "Anything is possible."

Pardons in Florida must go through the Board of Executive Clemency, which has one final meeting Dec. 9. Crist, Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, Attorney General Bill McCollum and Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson all sit on the board, but all will leave office in January.

...

Under state law, a pardon must have the consent of Crist and at least two other members. Bronson spokesman Terence McElroy said Bronson is willing to consider it, while a McCollum spokesman said McCollum would consider it only if Crist brings it forward.

Morrison was eventually cleared of the public drunkenness charges, despite clearly being drunk. He was eventually convicted of profanity and indecent exposure. Morrison never served any time in prison as he died in Paris in 1971.

Many Morrison fans claim the trial was a shame and have tried to clear their heroes ever since. Plus, let's be honest getting drunk, shouting curses and maybe exposing a little flesh is more or less standard business in Miami night life now a days.
