Florida is only the fourth most populace state when it comes to people, but we're number one when it comes to marijuana grow houses. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, 818 grow houses were raided in 2010, even more than the 791 raided in all of California.
Obviously, South Florida is the leader within in the state for marijuana entrepreneurship. The Sun-Sentinel reports that more than 1,000 plants have been taken from grow houses and burned in South Florida this year alone.
Though, the number of grow house raids in Florida can probably be explained by a few factors: 1) Ain't no one got real jobs down here anymore; 2) Unlike California we have not legalized medicinal marijuana; 3) Authorities in Florida have gotten awful aggressive about going after grow houses lately, even homes with only a couple of plans growing in a closet.
