Miami-Dade: Fourth Most Dangerous Metro; Three Cities in Top 50

Miami-Dade is the fourth most dangerous metro-area in the country, according to CQ Press's annual crime rankings. The rating takes reported incidents of murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, and motor vehicle theft into account. Last year, Miami-Dade was ranked seventh and 11th the year before.

Though, we're not entirely sure how it is "Miami (greater), FL" comes in at 23rd on the same list. It doesn't specify, but perhaps that's the average for all of South Florida.

Over on the city-by-city list, Miami-Dade has three municipalities within the top 50. Miami Gardens comes in at 35, though that's down from 13 last year. Miami Beach is actually the second most dangerous city in the county coming in at 42. City of Miami trails a little  at 45 (down from 30 last year).

Orlando takes top honors as the most crime-ridden city in Florida this year. Camden, New Jersey, took top spot for the entire country.
