A Miami Internet entrepreneur is looking to bank on the demise of MySpace. Tedd Bernard is chief executive of Almostfamous.com, a small company developing a social media platform for musicians to interact with fans and talent agents.

"Now that MySpace is dying, Almost Famous can step in to create an environment for artists to keep promoting their music," Bernard says. "Right now we are inviting users to test out the beta site."

Born and raised in Miami, Bernard graduated from MAST Academy. After he developed the idea for Almost Famous with his brother, Bernard's company was selected for an incubator program in downtown Miami started by Mark Billings, chief executive for Internet service provider Digiport.

"It is the only program in Miami that gives tech entrepreneurs an opportunity to grow their businesses," Bernard says. "You have venture capitalists and attorneys in the business talking to us, giving us feedback, and giving us the space to host our team free of charge. They helped us develop our business plan and show our product to venture capitalists and strategic partners."
