Haven't heard of Barry Jenkins? You will, soon enough.

The indie movie director's latest film, Chlorophyl, opens this weekend at Miami's very own seventh annual Borscht Film Festival. His first feature film Medicine for Melancholy was called one of the best flicks of 2009 by the New York Times. And he's working on at least two multi-million dollar projects for some of the biggest studios in Hollywood.

But Jenkins's own life reads like a movie script. Check out this week's feature -- up online tomorrow afternoon -- to read about how the former Northwestern star football player rose from a Liberty City housing project to become one of America's top young filmmakers. Plus a teaser for Chlorophyl after the jump.
