In a move that will save thousands of pieces of paper a year, the Miami Dolphins have stepped into the digital age and will replace their phonebook-sized paper playbooks this year with iPads. Each player was issued the Apple tablet. Though, that of course means players might be tempted to load up Angry Birds, Twitter or YouTube during team meanings. So, the team will fine anyone using their iPad for unauthorized activities a cool 10 grand.
"I love it," Reggie Bush told the Sun-Sentinel. "It makes it so much simpler, and obviously that's where technology has taken us nowadays. It's amazing, and I'm glad we got it."
Of course, iPad is also the technological advance of choice for time wasters. What with all those silly apps and easy access to YouTube.
The good money on the guy who's going to get fined first? Probably Chad Ochocinco. He's a notorious Twitter addict, and was fined $25,000 in 2010 for Tweeting during a Cincinnati Bengals preseason game.
