Today's 12-12-12, not that you didn't already know; TV and Internet news sources seem to be treating it either as a bonus holiday or a Mayan apocalypse training run -- or both -- since this is the last repeating date most of us are likely to see in our lifetimes.

But while most people see today's date as a repetitive but ultimately meaningless series of numbers, we see it as an excuse to celebrate the number 12 in all its Miami iterations -- plenty of which are too embarrassing to do more than once a century.
