Everybody says they're down with world peace, but what is anyone actually doing about it? Flashing a two-fingered peace sign in photos doesn't count.
Luckily, now's your chance to do more for the cause than just sing along to John Lennon's Imagine when it plays on Pandora.
On September 21, in honor of the United Nation's International Day of Peace, Miamians will gather on our sandy shores to create a massive human peace sign. Talk about Instagrammable.

Basically, the U.N. General Assembly dubbed this a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, an impressive cause indeed. Around the world, different events are scheduled to honor the big day, and Miami is no exception.
The free, all ages peace sign shindig is designed to inspire peace, nonviolence and motivation to love thy neighbors (and meet some of 'em).
Under the inspired guidance of JennyLee Molina of JLPR, the event will take some major logistical muscle, so they're in need of volunteers (aka Peace Ambassadors) to help organize people, shoot footage and take pictures and get the word out in general.
Molina was inspired to launch the event five years ago after finding an image of a similar gathering online when she was pregnant with her son.
"It really inspired me -- how beautiful it would be to have a day that celebrates the community and brings people together in the name of peace. We have this opportunity to be part of a historic picture -- to be part of a human peace sign on the sands of Miami Beach," she said.
When she discovered that the U.N. had a holiday devoted to peace, she figured that was the perfect opportunity.
"I've always been active in volunteering and activism. I used to volunteer with Greenpeace and Marine Animal Rescue, now I don't have as much time, but if I can create an event and use my resources to bring people together for something magical and peaceful, then why not?" she says.
Her aim is to keep things simple.
"It's an event just to get together. Nothing fancy -- no agenda, no money to be made. Let's get people together and have a good time, let's make that vision a reality," Molina said. "Capping off the day, people can stay for a sunset beach clean up."
As far as timing, "We would like people to arrive at 3:05 in the spirit of Miami," Molina said.
Peace sign formation is set for 5 p.m. (but timeliness is key -- the peace sign won't come together too well if half the participants are on Miami time).
