Those are the wise words of the mother of Justin Bieber. "Beliebers" may know Pattie Mallette solely as the near-religious figure who brought Justin Bieber into this world, but little do they know about her deeper, darker past.
Before she had her son (who, by the way, was accused of a hit-and-run and then had his name cleared), Mallette hit rock bottom. Even worse, she had to deal with it like any other normal person, because the Biebs was not born yet.
Until recently, Bieber has kept his mother's past on the DL, just like any upstanding mega-millionaire pop sensation. But Mallette is taking time off her nauseating exhausting "Bieber Fever" life to reveal the truth about the journey that's led her to where she is today.
No, she's not just the forebearer of a white boy who wishes he were ghetto and pouts/sings. She is a woman who knows a thing or two about overcoming poverty, depression, abandonment, and abuse.
