Are you a singer? Are you Latino? Do you watch American Idol and say, "I could whoop their sorry asses!"

If the answer to all of these questions -- or at least the first two -- is yes, then Time Warner Cable and the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts, or NHFA, have got the contest for you. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage month, they've launched Alcanza la Fama (Reach Fame), a contest designed to move one lucky aspiring Latino singer one step closer to achieving his or her dream.

The contest just kicked off and it requires contestants to submit a video of themselves singing "Es Tu Manera" via Time Warner Cable's Mi Cultura Facebook page. Submissions will be taken until November 11 and the winner will be selected by actors Jimmy Smits and Esai Morales, along with a public vote. And the grand prize for your efforts? The winner will get their very own music video, as well as a starring role as the face of a new Time Warner Cable Spanish ad campaign.
