If you're into electronica, chances are you'll be riding that chillwave of excitement into Bardot for the club's second installment of its Living Room Sessions. The speakeasy's new Thursday-night concert series kicked off last night with Junior Boys. And now we're all set to indulge in a dose of superrelaxed, computer-generated jams.
French act Anoraak will be dropping laidback dreamy dance music, dripping with understated attitude. Don't fear le Français, though. All of Anoraak's lyrics are sung in English. And no stranger to Miami, the band's frontman, Euro cutie Frédéric Rivière, spun two DJ sets at Bardot earlier this year.
Vancouver's Teen Daze is also headlining. A little trippy and somewhat sleepy, this solo Canadian has created some beautiful tracks perfect for the act of chilling out. Supplementing these out-of-towners will be Miami native Millionyoung, displaying his spinning skills.
Our town is on the front lines of this growing heady chillwave sound, fitting for those who want to dance and lounge at the same time. Not to mention, it's sort of your job as an internet user and citizen of the audio world to stay plugged into a growing genre coined by a blogger.
Anoraak and Teen Daze with Millionyoung. Thursday, October 13. Bardot, 3456 N. Miami Ave., Miami. The show starts at 9 p.m. and tickets cost $15 to $20 via bardotmiami.showclix.com. Ages 21 and up. Call 305-576-7750 or visit bardotmiami.com.
