Ultra Music Festival 2015 Cuts Ticket Prices, Selling for $299.95 to $449.95

"So expensive, bro."

That's been among ravers' most epic complaints about Ultra Music Festival for the past few years.

Especially as electronic dance music became "EDM." And the popularity of festivals like UMF boomed. And the cost of tix ballooned.

But now "for the first time in its history, and as a thank you to its loyal legion of fans," the official announcement reads, "Ultra Music Festival is reducing the price of general-admission tickets."

Last year, Ultra's GA passes cost $399.95, which meant about $500 after taxes and fees.

It was pricey enough for angry ravers (also spurned by the fest's 2014 early-bird ticket debacle) to launch a Boycott Ultra campaign.

We here at Crossfade simply suggested UMF adopt a layaway program to help ease the pain of shelling out a fistful of c-notes for a party. And eventually, the organizers took our advice.

For the 2015 edition, though, Ultra has revamped its sales plan, hoping to charm its "loyal legion of fans." And yes, appease those angry ravers too.

Part one of UMF's new strategy ... The fest is offering "ticket registration" till midnight on Monday, September 29 -- which means that party people can earn dibs on so-called "Tier 1" ($299.95) and "Tier 2" ($379.95) tix by simply providing UMF with some personal info (name, email, age, sex, and country of origin) via ultramusicfestival.com/tickets.

And part two ... General-admission Ultra 2015 tickets will cost $449.95. Or as the the fest's press release proudly notes: "Nearly $50 less than the 2014 event."

(Tix go on sale at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30. And these prices are also "all-inclusive of taxes and fees, though a nominal shipping surcharge will be added depending upon shipment location.")

Still, the question remains: Cheap enough, bro?
