Think of this as a chill way to kick off the week, or, if dance music is not your thing, to get a final taste of live sounds before you go into hiding. (The latter would be kind of a shame, considering the range of genres and artists represented, including, even, live acts, but to each his or her own.)
To kick off Music Conference 2010, The Vagabond and New Times are teaming up for Home Grown Stone Groove a showcase of Miami's finest grassroots talent. Hosted by MC Marcus Blake, Rod Deal, and the Stone Groove family.
The night will be set to the soundtrack of the 3rd Party Band - Stone Groove's in-house trio with Flavio Rocha on the guitar, Nick Aponte on the bass, and Mike Santos on the drums. The festivities will start off with new-school Delta Blues man Lex Groove, who will then accompany singer/harpist Z-Stone for a set that comes straight from the soul of the delta. Singer Necola will then crank it up a notch before we take it on the hip-hop kick with MCs Guapo, J4chun, and L.M.S. The night will reach a fever pitch with rock trio Honey Henny Lime taking control of the stage before the Aaron G. Trio brings in their unique style of modern jazz-fusion. Afterwards, Michael Maryanoff will present his spin on the Chicago Blues before singer/songwriter Anjuli Star sings her sweet acoustic melodies. MC Punch3nello will then take control of the microphone before we're treated to the soulful sounds of singer Big Brooklyn Red.
If your feet are itching for the dance floor, DJs A-Train, The Pharmacist, and C-Stone will be in the bar room, spinning a mix of funk, soul, and classics all night long.
With Complimentary Belvedere Vodka Cocktails from 10-11PM.
