Make Your Own Rules

The Harlem Globetrotters are headed to Miami, and they’re letting the fans make the rules. The legendary basketball players will hit the American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami) this Sunday as part of their world tour, Fans Rule. The Globetrotters are the first sports/entertainment organization to let their fans vote on three new exciting rules. The first rule, Hot Hand Jersey, involves both teams passing a Hot Hand Jersey among their teammates. The player wearing the jersey will get double points on any basket made. The second rule, Make or Miss, kicks off a quarter with only two players on each team. When a player scores, another teammate may enter the game. If a player misses, they must leave the court, which could be to the detriment of the team. Finally, Trick Shot Challenge will see coaches challenging the other team to make a trick shot after racking up three special challenge flags. If the team makes the shot, it earns five points. If it misses, the other team gets the points. Fans can vote for their favorite rule at The game begins at 4 p.m. Tickets cost $25 to $176 plus fees. Call 786-777-1000 or visit
