You (featuring Awesomeness)

For all the time you spend watching movies, they owe you a lot more than just making you feel stupid emotions. When is the last time Patch Adams got you a million-dollar deal with Def Jam? How to Train Your Dragon? How about someone trains a Bugatti to show up in your driveway? At last, order has been restored to the world with Demos, a documentary whose goal is to make you a massive hip-hop star — or, failing that, at least give your career as an independent hip-hop artist a boost. FYI: As of presstime, “MC Weird Infection” is a rapper name that doesn’t seem to be in use. Demos will have its Miami premiere at 8 p.m. Saturday at PAX (337 SW Eighth St., Miami). Rappers with less catchy names, such as Black Thought and Talib Kweli, appear in the film alongside other industry experts to share stories and advice about what you — yes, you, MC Weird Infection — need to do to take your game to the next level. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with the director and producers of the doc, as well as live performances by ArtOfficial, Skyzoo & Torae, Mr. Al Pete, and Midaz the Beast. There’s a lot you’ll learn from this one, from alternative uses for a four-finger ring if you have only three fingers, to saving money by wearing chains that can also go on your tires when it snows. You’ll walk into the screening with bad skin and a stutter, and walk out soaked to the bone with singles you made rain on yourself. Tickets cost only $10, which is what you’re gonna be using soon to light the twenties you use to light your blunts. Ya heard? Visit
