So you want to go out, enjoy great music, down a couple of cold ones, and have some fun. But you're wallet is as empty as a political promise.

No worries! There are plenty of rowdy options for cash-strapped party people. Just take a date to one of New Times' ten best music-related things to do under $10 and impress while raking in the savings.

Ben Prestage. 10 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at Tobacco Road, 626 S. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-374-1198; tobacco-road.com. No cover. Ages 21 and up. You've never seen a man work a guitar neck like Mr. Prestage. His fingers will light a fire on those frets, and his earthy country voice will have you crying like Mama just ran away forever.

Afrobeta. With DJ Contra. 10 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at Blackbird Ordinary, 729 SW First Ave., Miami; 305-671-3307; blackbirdordinary.com. No cover. Ages 21 and up. Miami's favorite dance duo may have experienced a setback when some gear (and even their "pigeon mascot"!) got stolen last week. But that doesn't mean Afrobeta has given up the rhythm!

Los Herederos. With DJ Le Spam. 10 p.m. Friday, May 31, at PAX Miami, 337 SW Eighth St., Miami; 305-640-5647; paxmiami.com. Tickets cost $10. Ages 21 and up. This local Afro-Cuban trio is gonna bring the heat to the dance floor. Don't let your heels catch fire, ladies.

This local hip-hop crew's advice for a good time: "Don't forget to take your Vitamins & Minerals, son." FYI, that's the name of the latest ArtOfficial album.
