For the record, we totally agree that you could get your ass kicked for trivializing our weekly malaise as a mere case of the Mondays. The first day of the work week sucks. John Lee Hooker called them stormy, and Garfield is proud to say he wont do them. Theres no denying that the day brings with it a certain dark gravitas. But when the week starts out rough, theres a place you can go to alleviate the pressure Marzen Mondays at Gordon Biersch. As super-friendly waiter Michael Li brought out our six-brew sampler, he explained that the Marzen is a dry, sweet, auburn beer. Indeed.
Although the Marzen could quench your blues, so could the Hefeweisen (its a fruity beverage once reserved for Bavarian royalty), or any of Gordon Bierschs other varieties. Handcrafted lagers cost $2 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. So if your Monday sucked the big one, we suggest you get a table on the vast outdoor patio, order up some yummy, crusty Southwest egg rolls, get your lady a pomegranate mojito ($7.75, and to die for), and watch Tuesday roll on in.
