Theres a bar for every kind of person in Coconut Grove. Underage boozehounds line up to get carded at The Tavern, while the MILF set gets tipsy at Mr. Moes. The seen-be-scenesters kick it on the corner at Green Street, and nobody knows who the heck is still getting soused at Christabelles Quarter. Then theres Barracuda the grittiest, cheapest, locally beloved-est spot in the used-to-be-bohemian enclave. Barracuda is the spot that unites diehard Grovites, stumbling college kids, and raisin-hell-for-one-night tourists alike. The formula is simple: Huge beer selection + surprisingly decent bar food + affordable prices + pool, foosball, and beer pong = a guaranteed good time. And Fridays feature the one and only ladies-drink-free happy hour from 6 to 10 p.m. If you didnt think chicks like to guzzle brewskis with the best of em, youve obviously never seen this crowd.
Just in case you decide to skate outta work early for some TGIF fun, theres the daily special from noon to 8 p.m. two-dollar domestic pints, seven-dollar pitchers. This little hole in the wall also won the Peoples Choice prize at this years Chili Cookoff, so you might want to wash down that beer with something to eat. All that, an impressive display of taxidermy, and the best jukebox in town. But maybe were biased, cause we dig Pantera and dudes with tattoos.
