After-dark activities in Miamis city parks typically involve something along the lines of two consenting adults, an unripe mango, and a safe word such as Okeechobee. Needless to say, you wouldnt bring mom, your girlfriend, or the kids on that kind of field trip. This Monday, enjoy a decidedly more family-friendly brand of fun at the Barnacle Historic State Park when Barnacle Under Moonlight takes the pavilion stage.
Beginning at 7 p.m., the monthly full-moon affair will present local folk troubadour Rod MacDonald strumming his guitar, blowing his harmonica, and singing songs about politics and passion. Picnic baskets and blankets are encouraged, but leave the pets and booze at home. Admission is seven dollars for adults, three dollars for kids 6 to 9 years old, and free for children younger than 6. So bring out your brood no safe words needed.
