Miami's Best Eats and Drinks This Weekend: Brew at the Zoo, Mother's Day, and Haute Cuisine

This weekend, Haute Cuisine Bal Harbour continues through Saturday with intimate dinners and cooking classes, while New Times' Brew at the Zoo returns with more than 100 local and international beers, live music performances, and food for purchase. Plus, Katsuya South Beach offers a sushi-rolling class, Hy Vong hosts a two-night pop-up, and numerous restaurants host Mother's Day brunches.

Time Out Market Miami Opening. Miami's much-anticipated Time Out Market is now open with 18 eateries, a demo kitchen, and three bars. Curated by Time Out's editorial team, the lineup includes venerable chef Norman Van Aken, who is doubling down on the market with two new concepts, including one that celebrates the chef's love affair with the Florida Keys. Other notable chefs represented include Jeremy Ford, Antonio Bachour, Michael Beltran, Giorgio Rapicavoli, and Suzy Batlle of Azucar. The beverage program also reads like a dream team with cocktails curated by Sweet Liberty, Broken Shaker, and Generator Miami. 1601 Drexel Ave., Miami Beach; Sunday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight. New Times' Brew at the Zoo. Saturday, New Times' Brew at the Zoo celebrates its tenth anniversary with an evening of beer, music, and fun. From 7 to 11 p.m., Zoo Miami is the place for beer lovers, music lovers, and party lovers to get their groove on with a host of food, drink, and entertainment. General-admission tickets cost $40 online ($50 at the gate) and include event entry at 8 p.m., unlimited sampling of more than 100 local and international beers, live music performances, and food for purchase. Libation lovers can take advantage of special Jameson Brewmaster tickets ($70), which include early entry at 7 p.m., access to unlimited sampling in the general-admission area, exclusive beer tappings available only in the Brewmaster area, a commemorative gift, live music performances, and access to food for purchase. Go all-out with the VIP experience: VIP tickets ($80 online, $90 at the door) include early entry at 7 p.m. with unlimited access to the general-admission and Brewmaster areas (and all of their beers). Haute Cuisine
Michelin-Starred Chefs Host Haute Cuisine Bal Harbour. The first U.S. edition of Haute Cuisine runs through Saturday, offering a rare chance to experience the cuisine of six of Europe's most renowned chefs. Among dinners and cooking classes, the event's main draw will be a formal gala dinner at the St. Regis, with all six chefs collaborating to dish out a final special menu. Sushi Rolling Class at Katsuya South Beach. Enjoy a two-hour sushi rolling experience led by renowned sushi chef Hiro Asano. For $75 per person, the session includes a sushi rolling lesson, a lunch where attendees will sample their creations, and a sake tasting. As an added bonus, an additional Japanese whiskey tasting is also available upon request. Hy Vong Pop-Up at St. Matthew Episcopal Church. Fans of the shuttered Hy Vong on Calle Ocho in Little Havana can enjoy a two-night pop-up this weekend at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.
