Most people will spend Christmas eating, drinking, and making merry with friends and family. That means forgetting something: a bottle of wine as a dinner gift, a stick of butter for Christmas cookies, or orange juice for the Christmas-morning mimosas.
Though most stores are closed Christmas Day, you can still find someplace open for that emergency purchase. Here's a rundown of the major chains and their hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Note that these hours are subject to change, and it's a good bet to call your local shop before you head out.
7-Eleven. Most stores are open 365 days a year, including Christmas Day.
ABC Fine Wine & Spirits. ABC is open till 8 p.m. Christmas Eve and is closed Christmas Day.
Amazon Prime Now. Delivery of gifts and even groceries from Whole Foods is available through Prime. The service has some holiday guidelines you should know: The last day for Prime free two-day shipping is Saturday, December 22. The last day for Prime free one-day shipping is Sunday, December 23. The last day for free same-day shipping is Monday, December 24. There will be no deliveries Tuesday, December 25.
CVS. Most stores are open Christmas Day, though services and hours might be limited.
Circle K. All locations are open normal hours on Christmas Day.
Cumberland Farms. The convenience store will be open Christmas Eve. It's open Christmas Day and will give out a free signature Farmhouse Blend or Bold coffee — hot or iced and any size — from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. December 25. Customers can also choose from other beverage options, such as cappuccino, tea, or hot chocolate.
The Fresh Market. Locations will be open normal hours Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day.
Presidente Supermarkets. The grocery chain will be open regular hours Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day.
Publix. Stores will close at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve and will remain closed Christmas Day.
Target. Locations will stay open until 10 p.m. Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day.
Total Wine. Stores will close by 8 p.m. Christmas Eve and will remain closed Christmas Day. In addition, Total Wine will provide same-day delivery Christmas Eve to most locations in Miami-Dade.
Trader Joe's. Locations will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and remained closed Christmas Day.
Walmart Supercenter. Usually open 24 hours a day, Walmart Supercenters will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day.
Walgreens. Most 24-hour Walgreens stores will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Some locations will have reduced hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Whole Foods Market. Whole Foods will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day.
Winn Dixie. Stores will be open until 9 p.m. Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day.
