Joe’s Stone Crab will open its doors early ahead of stone crab season for one evening only exclusively for the 17th Annual Children’s Home Society of Florida Claws for a Cause Dinner on Thursday, October 12th.
The event is Children’s Home Society of Florida’s largest and most productive fundraisers of the year. It draws of hundreds of Miami’s most prominent professionals and families and has raised more than $1 million to date support the children and families in CHS programs.
CHS is the statewide leader in providing high quality, community based solutions to meet the needs of children and families in the community. CHS provides a wide range of social services including emergency shelters, foster care, adoption, residential group homes, family and individual counseling, child abuse prevention and intervention services, home-based services, and help for pregnant teens and first-time mothers.
This year’s event will honor Miguel and Sonnia Viyella as the R. David & I. Lorraine Thomas Child Advocates of the Year, Children's Home Society of Florida's highest award. For almost two decades the Viyella’s have personally contributed and supported our mission by given of their time, talents and treasures. Join us as we celebrate the Viyella’s and build bridges to success for children in Miami-Dade County.
Claws for a Cause is the only opportunity to enjoy stone crabs at one of South Florida’s most famed restaurants before it opens to the public the next evening. Tickets are $350 per person or $3,000 for a table of 10.
