As we mentioned on Monday, the range of music happening this weekend in Miami is, to say the least, overwhelming. It's a good week to be a music fan in the 305.

But it's a really good week to be a rock fan in Miami. That's because Miami's historic Little Haiti punk dive, Churchill’s Pub, is turning 37 and it’s celebrating in a very big way. This isn't necessarily a single concert, rather it's a five-day, ear-melting celebration featuring over 100 live bands. The celebrating started yesterday and stretches to Monday, and, best of all, it won't cost a single dollar to get in the door on any day, any time.

If you've been in Miami for at least two years, you've likely seen that we're not that great at keeping music venues alive. So, when we finally are able to keep a place afloat for more than a decade, it’s a great excuse to get drunk and pat ourselves on the back. But in this case, more than just partying, we get to celebrate the longevity of a historic venue that has witnessed appearances by Marilyn Manson, Iggy Pop, and a mind-boggling number of local and touring artists.

The music kicked off yesterday with an event presented by Massive Ideas, featuring Telekinetic Walrus, MC Jumanji, Serious Jorge, and more. Tonight you can enjoy the sounds of Message to Venus, Menudo Death Squad, and Yoda, among many others. Saturday we've got Gun Hoes, Grey 8’s, Viceroi, and more. On Sunday you will be able to take advantage of the long Labor Day Weekend listening to Dénudés, Pena Máxima and Del Pelson — and on Monday you can come down with some jazz.

For all of those who can’t make it, you will be able to listen along to a portion of the shows on Shake 108 (107.9 FM) radio.
