Happy Friday! Lots to celebrate this weekend, including the news that Miami will likely not get slammed by a tropical storm.

Today is also National Dog Day, so give your pooch a smooch. Better yet, take Bowser out for a nosh or happy hour.

If you're looking to get out of town, Naples Grande Beach Resort is hosting its Grill & Chill Weekend. Naples is so close that you can take a quick day trip to participate in any of the activities and make it back home. Or better yet, stay the night.

Weekend starts now!
Naples Grande Beach Resort's Grill & Chill Weekend
Naples Grande Beach Resort (475 Seagate Dr.) will host its inaugural Grill & Chill Weekend. This culinary celebration kicks off today, Friday, August 26, featuring events such as a cocktail match, a pampering beauty brunch, beer- and wine-pairing dinners, and the Grande Grill Off. Nearly 20 of Naples' favorite restaurants will converge on the resort to celebrate the city's food-and-drink scene. Tickets start at $20 for tonight's Blender Bender cocktail event and go up to $63 for the Riptide beer-pairing dinner. A weekend pass costs $100.

Net proceeds of the weekend will benefit Florida Gulf Coast University’s Resort & Hospitality Management program. Tickets are available at naplesgrande.com/chill.
National Dog Day at Glass & Vine
Sure, today is National Dog Day, but you don't need a fancy-schmancy holiday to treat your dog to a fine meal. Glass & Vine is the perfect setting to munch out with your furry friend. Set in Coconut Grove's Peacock Park, the restaurant boasts shade trees and cool breezes (and even a squirrel or two for excitement). Glass & Vine recently launched a special doggy menu in collaboration with Dishes for Dogs — which means your pooch can have her own delicious meal. Choose from chicken and rice, basil beef, or roast turkey and sweet potato ($8 each). Each meal is made with USDA-grade ingredients in Dishes for Dogs' Wynwood kitchen and served fresh at Glass & Vine. If Bowser is looking for a light snack, there are treats made in-house from meat trimmings for $1.
W Miami's Doggy Happy Hour
Take your pup to happy hour tonight at W Miami's celebration of National Dog Day. From 5 to 8 p.m., you and Fido can hang together on the 15th & Vine terrace. You'll enjoy happy-hour cocktails, and your pampered pet will chow down on complimentary treats, all hosted by @ThisDogOrbits.
Lulu's Nitrogen Ice Cream Opens in Miami Beach
Lulu's is known for taking the freshest cream, tastiest fruits, and finest ingredients and flash-freezing them with liquid nitrogen into creamy, tasty treats. Today, August 26, Lulu's is celebrating the grand opening of its second shop, located at 1439 Alton Rd. in South Beach. Stop in anytime today to enjoy games, tunes, and free ice-cream samples.
