Miami's Best Eats and Drinks This Week: Game of Thrones Bites, New Happy Hours, and Cocktails for a Cause

Calling all Game of Thrones foodies. Beaker & Gray has crafted a menu inspired by the HBO show to celebrate its return to the airwaves this Sunday night. Munch on everything from lamb ribs to red doughnuts to prepare your mind and body for another epic season.  

The Rum Line and Komodo have launched weekly happy hours, and Midtown Oyster Bar kicks off its Paella Tuesdays this week, where diners can snag a seafood paella for two for $32. Toro Toro will host a cocktail competition Tuesday, with proceeds benefitting the Make-A-Wish, and Bází is throwing its first monthly music party Wednesday. Expect reggae-themed bites such as Jamaican patties and jerk chicken. End the week on a sweet note with a free ice-cream cone at any Miami Carvel location.

Monday 
Game of Thrones-Inspired Cuisine at Beaker & Gray
Foodies obsessed with HBO's Game of Thrones can nosh on dishes inspired by the show in honor of its sixth-season return April 24. Offerings include the "Valyrian grinder" ($14), made with village bread, pulled mutton, Valyrian mushroom, and wildfire; "Ribs of the North" ($17), topped with dragon fruit and wild berries; and "Red Wedding" doughnuts for a sweet finish. Dishes are available through April 24.
Happy Hour at the Rum Line
The Rum Line has launched a weekly happy hour Thursday through Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., executive chef John Iatrellis will offer a variety of bites, including fresh oysters ($1.25 each), conch salad ($3) with bell peppers and cilantro, mini oyster po'boy ($4) with spicy mustard aioli, shrimp tostones ($3) topped with mango salsa, and crispy calamari ($4) drizzled with smoked chili glaze. Paella Tuesdays at Midtown Oyster Bar
Partake of a paella dish for two featuring a medley of seafood such as  mussels, clams, shrimp, and calamari. Priced at $32 every Tuesday for lunch or dinner, each rice-based dish is cooked slowly, and chef Pierluigi Angioi switches up the seafood in each order. Cocktails for a Cause at Toro Toro
Join bartenders from Toro Toro, Beaker & Gray, Pawnbroker, MO Bar, Zest, and Blackbird Ordinary as they compete in a cocktail-making competition benefiting Make-A-Wisha. Guests will sample cocktails, vote for their favorite, and munch on bites from Toro Toro. The winning cocktail will be offered on Toro Toro’s drink menu through the end of May, with all proceeds directly benefitting Make-A-Wish. Priced at $30 per person, the event begins at 6 p.m. Purchase tickets via eventbrite.com.

Wednesday 

Reggae Party at Bází
The Asian-inspired eatery inside the Marlin Hotel will kick off its monthly music series with a reggae-themed party Wednesday from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Chef Mike Pirolo and partner Jen Chaefsky teamed up with Purdy Lounge and will transform the restaurant’s two bars into dance floors. Purdy's DJ Icue will spin throughout the evening, and Bází will whip up eats. Expect Jamaican patties, conch fritters, and jerk chicken wings fresh off the grill. Thursday 

Lucky 9 Happy Hour at Komodo 
Komodo has launched its weekday Lucky 9 happy hour, featuring an assortment of $9 eats and drinks. Sip cucumber basil martinis, lemongrass mojitos, and rhubarb mules while chowing down on tuna tacos and pastrami egg rolls for $9 each. Expect a DJ on the terrace Friday nights. Happy hour is available at the inside bar and outdoor garden and bar Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. 

Free Cone Day at Carvel
Stop by any of Carvel's Miami-Dade shops from 3 to 8 p.m. for a free junior soft-serve cone with a choice of vanilla, chocolate, or its first-ever soft-serve Oreo cookie flavor. Buy a $1 coupon book with more than $20 in savings to help support Carvel raise funds for the Red Cross.
