305 Brews to Open in Midtown Miami

A new craft beer and coffee bar is coming to midtown Miami this spring.

305 Brews is set to open at 3501 NE Second Ave. The name, according to Zeke Man, partner and general manager of the restaurant, is a nod to the nickname for both beer and coffee. 

Man, formerly a bar manager at South Beach's Clandestino Pub, says the name stands for everything the new spot will be. 305 Brews taps into Miami's love of locally roasted coffees and craft beers.

In addition, 305 Brews will offer a farm-to-table menu driven by local ingredients. "We are currently sourcing ingredients for our menu from the finest local farms, creating a unique concept in town when it comes to seasonal ingredients and variations on the menu, depending on what's available." Man says the idea behind the restaurant is to create a small but cozy space for customers. "We believe our guests are going to feel at home when they walk through the door." The restaurant will have a rustic feel, with wood floors and a wood bar, and offer outside seating. Additional windows will be installed to give the space a more open feel. "There's nothing pretentious. Everything is about having a good time."

The bar will feature 20 taps serving local beers and specialty beers, along with a good wine selection. "We'll try to have a rotating selection of seasonal beers and imports," Man says, "but the main focus is on local beers from Miami, South Florida, and Tampa." The coffee will be the bar's own signature blend, specially roasted at a small coffee place in North Miami. 

The restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast items feature coffee and pastries, made in-house. Lunch will include organic salads, steak, and burgers. Although the menu hasn't been finalized, lunch will average around $12 per person. 

The dinner menu will offer a rotating selection of small plates, changing with what's in season. Desserts will include mango ginger and lemon mousse and a homemade floating island. Tapas will run $8 to $15, with local craft beers costing around $7. Man says the whole idea is to keep prices reasonable enough for locals to make 305 Brews their new hangout. "It's about bringing the neighborhood bar back. That's why we chose beer and tapas — they're the most social food and drink around." 

Man reminisces about his favorite local spot. "I used to hang out on this very same block at a little bar called Stop Miami. I remember people from the area coming in after work. You could just sit down on the sidewalk and have a glass of wine. It was a cozy place. Everyone was welcome. That's the same vibe I want to bring back."
