Miami's Ten Under $10 Weekend Party Guide

Miami's best band is also the 305's most positive musical collective. “What I love about music is being able to get a message out to a lot of people," singer/guitarist Nik Balseiro told New Times earlier this year. "SunGhosts tries to bring hope that people can take with them in their lives." And as the bearers of all things good, Balseiro and his crew will be filling our empty pockets with hope by putting on a free show this weekend at Bardot.

Get a double dose of Psychocandy at the Jesus and Mary Chain after party at Gramps. No, the noise-rock pioneers won't be partying it up in the 'Wood, but the Magic City's greatest Smiths and Morrissey tribute act around, Ordinary Boys, definitely will.

Unleash all your "Bad Habits" as the 305's "modern-day troubadour" celebrates the release of his latest album, Late Night Radio. The musical madness starts at 8 p.m., but get there early for free bubbly, specialty cocktails by Afrohead Rums, brews by Concrete Beach, limited edition screen prints, menu specials, and more goodies.

There's nothing tastier than "Beer, Biscuits & Gravy" with Birdman's Clambake on a Friday night. Led by Sean "Birdman" Gould — the same man who met Eddie Vedder at Mac's Club Deuce 15 years ago and recorded a legendary jam session with the Pearl Jam rock star — you'll surely be treated to some good ol' rock 'n' roll.

The Magic City's newest party palace, El Tucán, promises to transport guests to a time when cabaret was king. And in true theatrics fashion, the Brickell hot spot will be celebrating its grand opening weekend with a variety of acts including New York's Freddie King, Grammy award-winning salsero, Marlow Rosado, and "the sad clown with the golden voice" himself, the nearly seven foot tall Puddles Pity Party.
