Miami Fans Are Right to be Excited For the Dolphins 2015 Season

The Miami Dolphins got together for the first time this week and had themselves a little football practice. That's normal for this time of year, of course, but for some reason it seems more exciting this time around. The last few years, Miami has had its attention on a Miami Heat championship playoff run in May, but this year local sports fans have a little more time on their  hands — so it's exciting to look at what the Dolphins are bringing to the field. So much has changed — mostly for the better — and that has Miami Dolphins fans pumped up to see if their team can make a Super Bowl. 

Let's take a look at a few reasons why Miami Dolphins fans are already extra-excited about the Phins in late-May. 


Ryan Tannehill has become the unquestioned leader of the team
There is no longer any question as to who the leader of the Miami Dolphins is — it's Ryan Tannehill. Gone are the guys who poisoned the locker room, and held back Tannehill from making his voice the loudest. Now Tannehill has a young wideout core and an offensive line that is no longer made up of guys who aren't with the program. It will be exciting to see just how far Tannehill can take this team in 2015 now that he is the unquestioned long-term leader of the offense. 


Ndamukong Suh is going to kill a man on the field
Suh comes with a reputation for bordering on the dirty side, but you know what? That's fine with us. The Dolphins have been lacking a guy like Suh for a long time, a guy that won't just lay down, and a guy that will strike fear into the other team. Cameron Wake has been the closest thing the Dolphins have had to that thing since Jason Taylor retired, but he's more of a finesse player that kills you with his speed — Suh will run you over. Watching Suh do things to opponents that have taken advantage of the Dolphins softness for too many years will be a pleasure to watch in 2015.


DeVante Parker and the new wide-receiving core are going to be fun
Under-performing assholes are out, while exciting young talent is in — the Miami Dolphins wide receivers this season are going to be so much fun to watch. Between Parker, Kenny Stills, and Jarvis Landry — the Dolphins have more firepower at the wideout slot than they have had in years. The most exciting part of this year's stable of wideouts is that it's not comprised of one over-priced star, and a bunch of losers who scare nobody; it's a solid, balanced group that should pair well with Tannehill's talents.
 

The Dolphins running backs this season are going to be explosive
With the addition of Jay Ajayi to go with Lamar Miller, the Dolphins boast the most exciting running back duo since Ricky Williams was involved in the team. Miller remains the unquestioned leader and starter from the get-go, but many feel Ajayi will play a large part in the team's offense this season. You can always be sure whoever touches the ball will know what to do with it, which hasn't been the case the past few years, as Phins fans sat through guys like Daniel Thomas mucking up the offense. 


We need something — anything — to be excited about, because this is a terrible time for sports in Miami
We'll take anything at this point, honestly. The Heat missed the playoffs, the Marlins continue to embarrass us, and the Florida Panthers might as well be in Canada — we need something to root for that won't kill our will to live. The Dolphins have a great chance to win some games — maybe even the AFC East with Brady out the first four games — and win back this town from the Heat. Winning cures all — that's what this town is about — and the Dolphins have a great shot at victory. That's exciting.
