It's that time of year again when we count down to New Times' Best of Miami 2012 issue in June. Until then, Short Order will serve up 100 of our favorite dishes in the 305. If you have any nominations of your own, please send them to [email protected].
99. Chow Fun at Chow Down Grill
Noodles may make us happy, but homemade noodles make us giddy with delight. That's the case with Chow Down Grill's Chow Fun. The noodles are made by chef Joshua Marcus -- wide and flavorful, they're a little slippery, a little chewy, completely satisfying. Sauteed with onion, Oriental kale, pepper, garlic, and ginger, Marcus then adds your choice of protein (choose from chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, vegetable, wild mushroom, tofu or XO sauce). We prefer the pork, but they're all delicious. Don't believe us? Try them all! A steaming bowl of goodness will cost you a reasonable $11.95. Wash it down with a Golden Monkey ale and you've got yourself a meal.
Best part of all? Chow Down South Beach, located on Alton Road, is open until 5 a.m. This means that you can feed your noodle addiction until just before sunrise, heading back to your lair on a full stomach as the first strains of color fill the sky like a vampire. Pity real vampires don't eat rice noodles, though. They're missing all the (Chow) Fun!
