Over The Counter, or OTC for short, opened in Brickell in the late fall and quickly became a place for locals to get affordable no-nonsense sliders, grilled cheese sandwiches, and charcuterie plates.
With most items under ten bucks, tenants in high-rent high rises could find a place to grab a beer and a bite without breaking the bank -- or leaving the neighborhood.
The owners of OTC have risen to the occasion of providing an affordable port in the storm for Brickell residents by offering an affordable Sunday brunch -- and now a monthly craft beer tap takeover.
OTC's owner, Michael Sullivan, told Short Order that the restaurant is
trying to reach out to all craft beer fans with the new monthly beer
series. That number is steadily growing as more restaurants offer craft
beers and microbreweries open in Miami.
The first tap takeover is tonight, March 14, at 7 p.m. when Tampa's Cigar City Brewing takes over with six limited-edition
brews. A member of Cigar City's team will be on hand to describe each
beer and answer questions. Beers range from $7-$12 and include:
Maduro Brown Ale - English brown ale with caramel, toffee, and coffee notes.
Patio Tools - Irish dry stout with coffee and light cocoa notes.
Humidor Series IPA - A rotating IPA series from Cigar City, aged on Spanish cedar.
Guanabana Ale - American pale ale.
