The McDonald's on Washington Avenue at Lincoln Road is one of the liveliest places in Miami Beach. At any hour of the day or night, the fast-food restaurant is filled with a mix of young and old, trendy and homeless, tourists and locals craving a quick bite before the beach or after a long night of partying.

But the usual busy scene turned chaotic when two men were shot inside the eatery early Sunday morning.
