If you were one of the thousands who participated in the Miami Marathon yesterday, congratulations. You deserve to wine and dine all week long.
That should be pretty easy considering Villa Azur has half-off handcrafted cocktails and a helluva deal on vino tonight. Non-racers can also enjoy the benefits of bivalves, charcuterie, a steak lunch, a stone crab benefit dinner, or a rooftop dinner.
Ready, set, the week starts now!
Unplugged Mondays at Villa Azur
The weekend might be over, but that doesn't mean you can't unwind. Do so at Villa Azur's Unplugged Mondays. Take in sounds from a three-piece band and sip half-off specially crafted cocktails. If that doesn't sound like enough to cheer up your Monday, the oyster platter with a glass of white wine for $17 or charcuterie and cheese plate for two with your choice of red or white vino for $28 might help. Music begins at 7 p.m.
Ark of Taste at Paraiso Bay: Stone Crabs and Genuine Hospitality Group
Slow Food Miami brings back its annual Ark of Taste benefit dinner for the sixth time to Paraiso Bay in Edgewater, where Michael Schwartz will plant his next concept and restaurant. The evening brings together Genuine Hospitality Group chefs and Florida's quintessential oceanic gem: stone crabs from George Stone Crab. Claws will be paired with locally sourced items from Michael's Genuine chef de cuisine Niven Patel's backyard and other surprises from local farms. Dinner costs $195 per person (with proceeds benefiting Slow Food Miami's edible school garden program) and begins at 6 p.m., with a cocktail hour courtesy of Grey Goose and wines from Stellar Wines. Tickets are available through miamiarkoftaste.com
Steak Lunch at Morton's in North Miami
If you're trying to beef up your lunch hour, head to Morton's North Miami location. They've just added the midday meal period to their offerings. It includes a three-course menu with choice of soup or salad (lobster bisque, baked five-onion soup, roasted tomato soup, caeser salad, or chopped spinach salad); entrée (grilled nine-ounce rib eye with garlic butter and mashed potatoes; baked crabmeat-stuffed jumbo shrimp with Parmesan capellini; crabcake BLT with caper-dill mayonnaise and matchstick fries; honey-chili-glazed salmon fillet with vegetable relish; chicken Christopher with garlic beurre blanc and mashed potatoes; or prime sirloin chopped steak with caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and mashed potatoes); and double chocolate mousse or cheesecake for dessert. Lunch costs $29.50 per person and runs Tuesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dinner on Touché's rooftop
Cool weather got you craving dinner on a rooftop? Touché read your mind, because a dinner component was recently added to the lounge's Thursday acoustic session. For just $16, you get two savory dishes and one dessert to end the evening on a sweet note. Options include a selection of celebrity chef Carla Pellegrino's sushi rolls, wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas, small plates (think smoked ham crock croquettes), and desserts like chocolate mousse fondant tart. Wash it down with any of Touché's specialty cocktails.
