Happy Labor Day! For everyone not in the industry, today means an extra day of eating and drinking. And for all those in the industry, today we pay tribute to you and your hard labor. From a Labor Day poolside barbecue to the last Miami Spice mash-up dinner, this is one busy week. And it starts now.

Monday

Poolside Barbecue at 660

Wave summer goodbye as you cool off in the Angler's pool. From noon to 6 p.m., a barbecue spread will be available for your eating pleasure. You'll nosh on grilled cheeseburgers, chicken wings, hot dogs, and ribs on the half rack. Accompany your protein with baked beans, corn on the cob, Southern-style potato salad, and macaroni salad. Kids eat for $10, adults for $20.

Glazed Pork Wings and Cider at Butcher Shop

Nothing quite says Labor Day like pork wings. But how about Rekorderlig wild berries cider-glazed pork ribs with a summer Rekorderlig pear and cranberry salad? Just head to the Butcher Shop where you can taste the dish today and for the rest of September. The meal will set you back $12.

Tuesday

Bar Wars at Haven

You'll wanna be at Haven Tuesday night when eight teams featuring the Magic City's top bartenders go cocktail-to-cocktail for four rounds in order to get an invite to the finals on December 9. Tuesday is the kick-off event where you'll get to mix and migle with the participants: Will Rivas of Macchialina, Adam DelGiudice of Regent Cocktail Club, Trevor Alberts of Orange Blossom, Isaac Grillo and Carla Rivera of Haven, Bryan Canales of Radio South Beach, Ben Potts of Blackbird Ordinary, and more. Drinking (and complimentary punch) begins at 8 p.m.

Wednesday

Krug Dinner at the Dutch

Krug, the world-renowned champagne house, is curating a pairing dinner at the Dutch Wednesday at 8 p.m. Chef Conor Hanlon will pair oysters three ways, creamy stracciatella di buratta with Georgia peaches, and seared Maine scallops with bubbly. Dinner costs $245, but you're popping champagne. Totally justifiable.

Thursday

Miami Spice Mash-Up Grand Finale at Lure

We're halfway through Miami Spice, which means you only have one more month to eat your way through 174 restaurants. Or you can go to the grand finale of the Miami Spice mash-up series at Lure Fishbar. Lure chef John Latrellis, Wolfgang Birk of Area 31, and David Bracha, chef/owner of River Oyster Bar and Oak Tavern, are teaming up to cook you one unforgettable meal that includes two dishes per chef and a dessert from all three. Dinner costs $75 per person including a cocktail reception and one complimentary drink.
