If you can avoid the rain this weekend, there's a handful of things to do that would be well worth the effort.
Luckily, one of the best events this weekend is a little north of Miami -- Beerfest. It's hosted by our sassy sister paper New Times Broward-Palm Beach.
In addition to that, our home away from home is throwing a bash in honor of our neighbors in New Orleans.
It's like a stay-cation, y'all!
You know, we brag about our events all the time. But with good reason. They're awesome, and we like for you to come and enjoy the awesomeness so you can be like, Wow, they were really telling the truth in that post I read. Beerfest is no exception. This year, it's being held at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale and is hosted by our sister paper in Broward. There will be more than 100 varieties of suds to drink, food, games, and live music, plus -- the best part -- you'll be supporting the local homebrewing movement. We're totally into it.
For real. Randalls are wonderful inventions. The filtering system allows brewers to run a brewski through any number of flavor additions. At World of Beer Kendall, you can reap the riches of the crazy and delicious concoctions they come up with. Think pumpkin beer flushed with doughnut holes to make a chocolate pumpkin brew. Or a Midas Touch flushed with mint and lime for a beergarita. Yes. We know.
The thing about Miami is that it's so great no one ever wants to leave. But that doesn't mean we can't appreciate other places. So to find a happy medium, we bring the other places here. Tobacco Road knows all about this strategy, and that's why you can have a New Orleans-style crawfish feast this Sunday. It's kid-friendly, and admission is free. And, crawfish. OK, so, see you there.
