In search of new menu items at your favorite restaurants? Well search no more! Red the Steakhouse, Milos, and Shikany have added some seriously scrumptious updates to their menu. It is time to go big or go home.
Shikany's is really "shiaking" things up with a suckling pig head ($30) accompanied by micro arugula, pineapple pates de fruit, banana ketchup (you did not misread that), leche d'tigre injection, and finished with lime dust. Next there is the Scottish wood pigeon ($32) with chicken heart pumpkin risotto, saffron crème and candied basil. Or try the mind-blowing uni and kiwi ($22) with foie mousse, crispy rice, tomato concasse, jalapeño, shallot, and cilantro oil. Lastly, there's the Mediterranean red shrimp tartare ($18) with nigori spray, yuzu simple syrup, crispy head, shrimp dust, and fried shiso.
Red the Steakhouse is now offering complimentary house-made barbecue potato chips. In addition, the main menu has upped its game with flash-fried burratta ($24) with wild berry compote and Iberico ham, and flash-fried lobster tail (4 oz. $19; 6 oz. $49) adorned with a house-made sweet chili sauce. Those with a sweet tooth can try the cereal milk ice cream ($6). Flavors include Frosted Flakes, Cap'n Crunch, and peanut butter chocolate. Then there's the s'mores bar ($12) accompanied with peanut butter ice cream.
Milos for the first time is unveiling the Milos Meze menu (Greek tapas). Some of the standouts are the Greek botargo ($12) with gently cured roe of the renowned Missolonghi gray mullet; htipiti ($5) with roasted red pepper and barrel-aged feta; taramosalata ($5) with fish roe, olive oil, and lemon; grilled octopus ($12); grilled halloumi ($6); and lamb gyro and shrimp gyro, both at $12. There are a total of 21 meze ranging from $4 to $12.
