Come December, there'll be another star in Miami's sky. Stephen Starr, to be exact. The man behind Buddakan, Morimoto, Makoto and Steak 954 has been named the exclusive restaurateur and caterer for the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM).
The new, highly anticipated Herzog & de Meuron-designed space will offer three stories of illustrious art, killer views of Biscayne Bay, and now impressive eats too. According to the folks at PAMM, Starr's spot will serve seasonal fare from a waterfront locale.

Starr has been named "Restaurateur of the Year" by Bon Appétit and Zagat, and his company is the exclusive caterer for cultural institutions such as the New York Botanical Gardens, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the New York Historical Society, the Rubin Museum of Art in New York, and the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Big names, indeed. PAMM is the latest addition to the mix and the area's first to partner with Stephen Starr Events.
According to Leann Standish, deputy director for external affairs at PAMM, the restaurant concept will highlight seasonal foodstuffs.
"PAMM's design is reflective of Miami's cultural and urban landscape. It's really of the city, and the restaurant will be as well. The restaurant is going to embrace fresh ingredients in season in South Florida, which ties nicely into the space surrounded by Biscayne Bay, Museum Park, and the lush landscaping design," Standish says.
As far as specifics, they're still working out the details.
"The menu is still in development. We are working with Stephen Starr Events to create something that is going to encapsulate the vibrant, diverse experience of Miami," Standish adds.
The eatery will seat 72 inside and 32 outside, she says.
"One of the very few waterfront restaurant spaces, it embraces Miami's natural landscape. Its location at PAMM will also provide visitors with an opportunity to enjoy the water, park, and culture of the city in one space, creating a hub for social activity," Standish says.
In addition to the restaurant, the 200,000-square-foot space will feature plenty of options for events, including an auditorium, a state-of-the-art media lab, and waterfront areas for weddings and the like. Better get booking -- PAMM is bound to be Miami's hottest new venue.
