For the folks behind Wynwood Brewing Company, the road to beeradise has been a bit rocky. Since they announced their intention to open a production facility back in 2011, the crew has faced oodles of red tape from the city and county.
But there's a light at the end of the tunnel. According to founder Luis Brignoni, the long wait may be over in June. The delay certainly isn't for a lack of effort on their part, he says. "We're so ready. It's so annoying - we just want to brew beer."
"We are still kind of in the middle of construction and getting some issues ironed out with the city and county, but we're hoping to have an opening in June. That's what we're working towards," Brignoni says.
February saw a major milestone - the delivery of their equipment to the fledgling brewery's space on NW 24th St.
Once open, they'll be releasing their La Rubia - Blonde Ale, Pop's Porter and Wynwood IPA. In the meantime, their brews make appearances at local events and festivals, including last week's Sprung! Spring Beer Festival in Peacock Park.
They'll also be participating in the grand opening celebration for Midtown's new World of Beer location in April.
Come closer to opening, Brignoni says they'll be in need of good help.

"Once we get our final inspections and we get an idea of dates we're definitely going to be hiring some folks to help us out in the tap room and also in the brewery. We'll definitely announce it on our Facebook page so we can reach a lot of people so we can get the best of the best."
Three months and counting. We can't freakin' wait.
