Come December 12, STK will reclaim its proper place on South Beach inside the newly renovated 1 Hotel & Homes (formerly the Perry and the Gansevoort South Beach).

The chic steak house was originally supposed to stay open during the transformation into an eco-friendly lodge, but it shuttered for a "disco nap" when the bright idea of moving the restaurant/lounge to the opposite end of the hotel arose.

1 Hotel & Homes will also be home to Tom Colicchio's new restaurant, which will presumably inhabit the former STK space.

The force behind the upscale steak house, One Group, will unveil the new STK just in time for holiday madness and Miami's high season. (Too bad not in time for Art Basel.)

Chef Aaron Taylor, which STK plucked from Meat Market in 2011, is back to helm the kitchen along with chef de cuisine Eli Jackson. Together, the duo will treat guests to fresh offerings that will elicit a sense of nostalgia. Signature dishes such as the bite-size Wagyu beef lil' BRGs, lobster mac 'n' cheese, and foie gras French toast aren't going anywhere. Neither is the high-quality USDA Prime steak that STK sources. Think bone-in rib steak, bone-in filet mignon, and the king of cuts, porterhouse.

Taylor and Jackson will also source local catch and incorporate it into the next phase of STK. Handcrafted cocktails will be a big focus and pull produce from local farms. Think the basil'rita, which will mix local basil with tequila.

As far as the look of STK, the award-winning design firm Icrave has been tasked with turning the gargantuan, 10,000-square-foot space into a warm and sleek setting. The layout will retain the bilevel look of its predecessor, and a bar will be the centerpiece. Additional bars, as well as a lounge outfitted in white leather banquettes, rosewood tables, and a DJ on the turntables at all times will continue to push STK's motto: "Not your daddy's steakhouse."
