In case you didn't hear, a short piece of Miami's history was imploded this weekend. Yes, the ill-planned Miami Arena, which spent most of its time empty than serving its actual purpose as an sports and entertainment venue, has been destroyed to make way for -- er, well what exactly we don't know. But seeing how the City of Miami proper lacks so many of the basic elements that make up most metropolitan cities -- a mall, movie theater, large urban park, bookstore or Best Buy -- we are sure they'll find something to do with it. Just please, no more condos.
