NBC Universal is dropping the creative services staff at all of it's owned and operated stations reports Gawker. That includes WTVJ.
The Creative Services staff is responsible for on-air promos, and other in-house marketing services. The cuts will begin September 16th, with another station facing lay-offs every two weeks.
Now all promo duties for the ten stations will be handled by a central staff in New York.
Gawker talked to an NBC exec, and says that creative services executives will remain at each station, but that's about it. Some newsroom employees will be expected to pick up some of the marketing slack. Interesting.
