While you were watching the NFL playoffs all weekend, the Miami Heat players were busy getting the taste of that Warriors ass-kicking out of their mouths by gargling with the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors on back-to-back nights.
Following a 110-94 win in Orlando Saturday night, the Heat held off the Raptors Sunday 102-97. LeBron James led the Heat with 30 points on 12-18 shooting, to go with five rebounds and four assists. The Heat is now 26-8 on the season.
Maybe the best thing to come out of Sunday's game was the fact that Dwyane Wade was able to give it a go, playing in back-to-back games this weekend, a rarity this season. Wade didn't have the best game, finishing just 5-13 for 14 points, but the fact that his knee felt good enough to play 35 minutes is really what you can take away from Sunday's game.
Mario Chalmers left the game early with Achilles tendonitis, which, along with multiple players in foul trouble, made for some rarely seen lineups all night. Norris Cole was one of those players who saw more action, playing 30 minutes.
Udonis Haslem had his best game of the season, scoring six points and grabbing four rebounds. I just got really sad typing that, but still, it's true -- best game of the year. Getting back even 50 percent of what UD had been before his terrible start to this season would be like making trade at this point, so every sign that Mr. 305 is breaking out of it is exciting.
Epic "cawww, cawww" moment last night -- looks like Birdman is getting back to full strength after missing a few games with back issues. Not sure why, maybe it was my TV set, but Birdman's tattoo's looked extra-blue for some reason. Birdman "fowl"-ed out of the game. Get it? See what I did there?
This will never, ever, never, ever, infinity-never-ever, get old. At this point, there are hundreds of clips on YouTube of Wade and LeBron doing something similar to the play above, but each one is just as enjoyable as the last. Some end more violently, others end like this one -- more softly -- but I love them all the same.
Next up for the Heat is a matchup with the Pelicans Tuesday at home before welcoming the team that provides the most LOLs in the league, the New York Knicks.
