Granted, New York was in the midst of a blizzard, but Howard Stern didn't seem too keen on his home base for the past 30 years.
On Monday, the shock jock opined that he wished he could move his entire show to Florida and that, in fact, he just kind of wished the entire city of New York would move to the Sunshine State.
"I want to do the show from Florida, but the guests can't come to Florida," Stern said, reports the Next Miami. "Why can't I just do it and be on a TV camera and look at the guests?"
He then called New Yorkers stupid for staying put in the city. "New York is the center of the world... Why wouldn't everyone just move to Florida and build a New York there? I don't get it."
Sure, large numbers of New Yorkers do eventually relocate to South Florida, as anyone in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties knows.
In fact, Stern himself recently bought a beachside megamansion in Palm Beach for $52 million. The $10 million worth of renovations are scheduled to be completed sometime early this year.
Of course, there have been rumors before that Stern might move to Florida, but he has shot those down.
Multiple times actually.
If he did move his show to Florida, he wouldn't be the only power jock to broadcast from the state. Rush Limbaugh regularly broadcasts his show from West Palm Beach.
However, as Howard notes, his show relies on a bevy of characters and celebrity guests, whereas Limbaugh's show is just the lone rantings of an angry man dreaming up conservative fan fiction for three hours.
